#FairPlay: About ‘taking a knee’ before it became a powerful symbol

--

The pop-up exhibit, ‘ Fair Play: Athletes Speak, Assemble, Petition for Freedom ‘, at the B Gates Concourse of Dulles International Airport is worth seeing.

It’s about “ taking a knee “ before both the phrase and gesture became a powerful — and more importantly, peaceful — symbol of resistance against social injustice.

Freedom Forum, the nonprofit that put up the exhibition, explains that it “explores the relationship between athletes and activism and tells the stories of athletes using their First Amendment freedoms to affect change”.
